Open Heart Christian University (OHCU) has accreditation and membership with a nationally recognized accrediting institution to award certificates and associates, bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees.
Open Heart Christian University is a private corporation in the state of Florida, legally authorized by the Florida State Board of Independent Colleges and Universities (OHCU) with a religious exemption authority to offer degree programs designed solely for religious vocations. OHCU makes no claims, implied or otherwise, that our educational programs, courses, or curricula are the same as those offered by secular state colleges and universities.
OHCU is not affiliated with the State of Florida or the U.S. Department of Education. Credits and degrees earned at Open Heart Christian University are for those in Christian service.
OHCU desires to remain separate and thereby maintain our religious prerogatives and freedom to compose courses and design degree programs that are in accordance with our Biblical convictions and beliefs.
This commitment to religious freedom is central to our identity and mission. We have chosen our accrediting agency specifically to preserve this freedom and ensure that our curriculum and institutional operations remain guided by biblical principles rather than external secular mandates.
OHCU is proudly accredited by the Christian College Accreditation Commission International (CCACI), a national and international accrediting commission that currently represents over 100 institutions in 4 countries.
OHCU has not sought recognition from the United States Department of Education. This choice has been made by the institutions CCACI represents and in no way reflects on its legal status or the quality of education offered by the institutions.
OHCU has elected CCACI as its accrediting agency because we desire to remain free from the control of any Federal, State, or private agency that will not allow complete religious freedom in our curriculum and student body. CCACI's commitment to institutional autonomy and religious expression aligns perfectly with our mission.

Important: Students are encouraged to inquire with the educational institution into which they plan to transfer concerning the transferability of credits received through OHCU in advance of enrollment.
